1. Prevent Alzheimer's disease, improve the memory level of the elderly
Aβ(β--amyloid protein) is the main component of senile plaques in cerebral cortex and an important substance causing Alzheimer's disease. Alginate oligosaccharides can interact with Aβ, thus antagonizing toxicity of Aβ and playing an auxiliary role in preventing and treating Alzheimer's disease. At the same time, alginate oligosaccharides can greatly increase (230%) the activity of choline acetylase in cerebral cortex, promote Acetylcholine synthesis, greatly increase the content of Acetylcholine in brain, and prevent and treat memory deterioration. Mannuronic oligosaccharides can promote the proliferation of T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes, thus improving the level of cellular and humoral immunity.
